Naiad by EranFolio Naiad by EranFolio
The ancient Greeks believed that every river, lake, fountain and pond had its own naiad, or water spirit. It was said that they shared the fate of their body of water; if it dried up, they died. If it sickened, so did they.
So far, about ten hours of work. I have a renewed appreciation for anyone who has mastered drawing water. It is maddening.

The eyes aren't glowing, by the way. It's a reflection off the back of her eyes. A nocturnal specialization.

If only nature had these beings. Then humanity could pay an immediate price for the carelessness.

The water looks fine. You also captured the evil hatred in the eyes of the Naiad. The foul creature the water has turned her into.
How Sad that this is actually an example of many water locations in our world.
An image of how we care nothing for our world, even down to our own water that we need to survive.

Screw the lorax, use this picture instead! Good work, it is a very evocative painting. The water doesn't look right, but then again, it's heavily polluted. Polluted water doesn't look like normal water, which doesn't look like stagnatd water either. I have no tips for you there, but it looked right to me.

Wow I absolutely adore the concept.
At first I wondered about her creepy looks and the blood, but then I realized the state of her river...
poor Naiad...

Oh, that's sad. She's scarred because of all the pollution. When the water was clean and crystalline, she was also beautiful.

Brilliant concept, and the thought that the beautiful naiads would sicken and suffer with their water is an uncomfortable thought, isn't it?

Very awesome drawing. Sad, too. The sores on her head and the way her hair is so bare are very striking to her plight, strangely.
