Incredible! I love the idea, the colors, the feeling, etc question! is the old man representing god/god-like creature? I'm asking this because he is creating a human, maybe? if so, are the other creatures behind him faild ones? I would really want to know what you where thinking about when you did this.
There's an element of morbidity here - because the bits of shards on the ground feel like "blood", and the ghoul like shadows lurking in the fog-shrouded background. But, his expression - of desperate hope - keeps trying to convince me otherwise. What feels amiss is that, the possibly morbid concept of 'carving a human out of stone' and the sinister vibes the background gives - doesn't match up with the old guys expression.
Wow, from the thumbnail at a distance I thought it was a pregnant woman, but this concept is pretty much the same idea of him chiseling out another being like him from the rock! That's what it is right? Even if it's not, it's a beautiful piece, and I'm glad you made it. I love the colour choice and I like his anatomy. The perspective with his crossed legs is awesome! As whole, it almost feels like there's something missing, but I can't pinpoint precisely what it is. It's very well done though! Thanks for sharing with us! ~
