Initial draft for tickets to a Richard Dawkins lecture event. Uses only M and K inks, designed to be printed on cream colored paper to maximize return for client expenses. This was commissioned by the Center for Inquiry of Portland, OR, and anyone interested in attending the show should ask them about purchasing tickets.
About the design: Because the lecture title is "The greatest show on Earth," I decided to run with his reference to P.T. Barnum's circus act and base the design on circus tickets from around that time period. Also referenced are the lecture tickets of Darwin's day, and the main graphic is a visual metaphor alluding to the "blind watchmaker" joke again.
Once again, regarding the circle of life graphic: I was able to obtain permission from Dr. David Hillis to integrate his wonderful phylogenetic tree of life into my design, for which I am very grateful. A PDF of this tree can be found here, [link] and is available for any non-profit or educational applications. Please give credit to its creator/s if you use it.
Any questions regarding evolution, I'd like to direct towards this explanatory series of videos: [link]
Gostei pakas!
My only regret is that Portland, Oregon is so far away.
I've read him, and seen some of his TV work.
